Much of the thought leadership around what it means to be a leader in this transformational world is happening outside Australia. To tap into it, Australian executives travel to Stanford and Harvard or go on global study tours. These are great learning experiences, but they are not locally-focused.
As leadership development innovators, Maximus International decided to take on the challenge of bringing international thinking around disruption and leadership to Australia. In 2017, we launched Fire Up The Future, an intensive annual program aimed at C-suite executives seeking a global develop-ment experience without having
to travel overseas.

Fire Up The Future offers a unique experience to leaders
of Australian organisations with ambitious agendas. It exposes them to a global perspective on disruptive pressures in their sector while taking them on a personal development journey. Every aspect pushes participants’ personal and professional boundaries, challenging them to be the best version of themselves and equipping them with the 21st century leadership tools to solve their enterprise’s current and future problems.
Held in Sydney, Fire Up The Future is customised for the Australian business environment. Four immersive group modules are held over ten months, with opportunities to extend the experience through individual assessment and coaching. The program reflects Maximus International’s design philosophy by aligning with the three core drivers for behaviour change: head, heart and hands.
To deliver Fire Up The Future 2017, we assembled a faculty of thought leaders from Stanford and INSEAD. These world-class speakers provided more than enterprise training and international insights: they had a transformative impact on participants.
The Fire Up The Future 2017 cohort was made up of 30 leaders from ASX 100 and global multinational corporations, with a combination of C-suite executives and their direct reports.
Their feedback was that the quality of speakers and content was excellent, and that the experience had made a huge impact on how they approached leadership, from how they structure their day to the way they balance authenticity and power. Finally, by sharing it with peers from other companies, they had made networks for life.
